This Day That Age
Mr. C. Rajagopalachari, founder of the Swatantra Party, declared in Madras on October 31 that the path of socialism would not lead to prosperity and that what India should now concentrate upon was to increase production without destroying capital. He was speaking at the Madras District Swatantra Party Convention held at the S.I.A.A. ground. Mr. M.R. Masani, M.P., who presided, gave an analysis of trends in socialist parties all over the world and said that people were trying everywhere to break out of the shackles of socialism.
