Girl dies as bus runs over her

Bangalore: A 19-year-old Spice Telecom employee was killed on the spot when she was run over by a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus on Hosur Road near the Roopena Agrahara junction here on Sunday.

M. Radhika, a resident of Garvebhavipalya, was crossing the road around 11.45 a.m. when the incident occurred.

The Madivala police arrested the driver, Yedugirish Annegowda, and seized the bus.

The Hennur police arrested five men in connection with the October 24 murder of B.R. Praveen alias Appi in Hennur and recovered lethal weapons from them.

The police said the suspects attacked Praveen and his friend Santhosh alias Emme. While Praveen died on the spot, Santhosh is in hospital.
