Huzefa shines

Coimbatore: A fine knock of 103 by the in-form Huzefa M. Patel saw Sri Ramakrishna Mills Sports Club register a convincing 140-run win over Jolly Rovers Cricket Club in the TNCA-CDCA first division league for the Pricol Trophy at the SNR Sons College grounds here on Sunday.

After posting 302 for eight in its allotted 50 overs, Sri Ramakrishna Mills restricted its opponent to 162 for eight for a comfortable win.

Table tennis tourney

The Coimbatore District Sports and Games Welfare Association will conduct its 19th annual ‘Catch them Young’ table tennis tournament for the S.R. Jewellery and G.S & Co rolling trophies at the YTTA table tennis hall on November 7 and 8.

At Krishnagiri, TVS Cricket Club defeated Time Passers Cricket Club by four runs in the TNCA-KDCA second division league on Sunday.

The scores: TVS CC 120 in 23.4 overs bt Time Passers CC 116 for seven in 25 overs; Spontaneous Guys 171 for three in 25 overs (Anbu 59, Krishnan 45) bt Jay Jay CC 132 in 25 overs.

Sai on song

At Udhagamandalam, V.S.S. Sai of Nilgiris did not sweat much on his way to a 11-9, 11-8, 9-11, 11-8 win over S. Irudayaraj of Chennai in the men’s 60-plus singles final in the State level veterans’ table tennis tournament, conducted by the Nilgiris District Veterans’ Table Tennis Association, at the Presidency Club on Sunday.
