Mohit and Akash shine

CHANDIGARH: Mohit Kumar and Akash Yadav scored five goals each as MNS, Rai (Haryana) thrashed St. Anthony High School (Goa) 15-0 in the ATS junior Nehru hockey tournament at the Sector-42 stadium here on Monday. Other scorers for the winner were Kartik Kumar (3), Abhinav and Jaiveer Singh.

In another match, Pooja Modern School (Kurukshetra) outplayed Chhatrapati Shivaji Junior College (Kolhapur) 17-0. Sunil Kumar, Naveen Antil, Karambir and Vijay Kumar struck four goals apiece. Manpreet was the other scorer.

Five second half goals helped Union Academy Senior Secondary School (Delhi) record a comprehensive 7-2 victory over NCC ‘B’ team. Mohit, Amit Kumar, Chandan Gupta, Sumit, Parveen Kumar, Manjit Antil and Ashish Chaudhary found the target for the Delhi team. Elyas Bhengra and Sunil Dhanwar were the scorers for the NCC outfit.
