BHEL plans to focus on company-wide improvements

Showing commitment: BHEL officials taking a pledge at the inauguration of the ‘Quality Month.’

TIRUCHI: Leadership in product quality is the most important requirement for any company to satisfy its customers and to achieve market leadership, said A.V. Krishnan, Executive Director, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Tiruchi, here on Monday.

Inaugurating the Quality Month activities at a function held at the BHEL, Mr. Krishnan, said that in keeping with the theme ‘Striving for leadership in product quality for customer success,’ the BHEL, Tiruchi would focus on bringing about company-wide improvements that would directly impact the quality of products and services that ultimately reached customers and other stakeholders.

Addressing general managers, employees’ representatives and other senior officials after administering them the BHEL quality pledge, Mr. Krishnan said that Quality Month activities had to go beyond re-dedication of all employees to the quality movement. He called upon all departments to rejuvenate the BHEL’s commitment to quality during the month by identifying and launching at least one initiative in their respective areas that would enhance the satisfaction of stakeholders with the BHEL’s products and services so that by the end of the month, these initiatives would be integrated into day-to-day operations of the company. All employees took the pledge at their work stations.

Earlier, Mr. Krishnan along with representatives of participative unions, supervisory and executive associations and two senior most employees of the BHEL, Tiruchi – N.P. Murugesan, Additional Engineer (Grade-II)/Operation, Planning & Control (Fossil Boilers), and A. Ezhilarasu, Senior Deputy general manager/Purchase (Valves) – inaugurated the Quality Month observed every year during the month of November.
