Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Extension of technology, exercising of rightful discretion, reaching out to public grievances and enforcement of rules and regulations shall enable the administration to fight corruption, said former Chief Election Commissioner T.S.Krishnamurthy here on Tuesday.

Participating in the ‘Vigilance awareness week’ being observed by Southern Railway from November 3 to 7, Mr.Krishnamurthy requested railway officials to be a role model for providing clean public administration.

Southern Railway General Manager M.S.Jayanth appreciated the efforts of the Vigilance Department in controlling the menace of touts and anti-social elements throughout the year and particularly during the festival season. He also administered “Vigilance Pledge” to his subordinates. Similar pledges were taken at all divisional headquarters and important stations over Southern Railway.

A vigilance bulletin was released on the occasion by Mr.Krishnamurthy and vigilance bi-monthly e-bulletin was launched by Mr.Jayanth.

Throughout this week, various promotional activities such as seminars, essay competitions, workshops, debates etc. are being organised at all divisions of the zonal railway on topics related to vigilance/corruption to spread awareness.
