Two women tricked into parting with jewellery
Bangalore: In two separate incidents, two women were duped of their jewellery worth Rs. 1.5 lakh by four men posing as policemen in H.S.R. Layout police station limits on Tuesday morning.
Nagalakshmi (55), of Kaikondanahalli, lost her gold chain and bangles to two miscreants near her house. The police said she was accosted by the “policemen” who said she had better remove her jewellery as some women in the area had been robbed. She complied and they offered to wrap it in a cover. She realised she had been duped when she opened the cover at home to find fake jewellery.
In the other incident, which occurred at Rajeshwari Layout, two men used the same trick to dupe Lalithamma (74), a resident of Konena Agrahara, of her gold chain, earrings and bangles.
