Wooing customers: BSNL officials addressing a press conference in Rajahmundry on Wednesday. — Rajahmundry: BSNL General Manager, East Godavari, G. Raghavendra Rao, has announced that the BSNL is going to introduce second pulse rate system with low tariff to compete with private players in the market. Under the CDR project, the BSNL is all set to introduce this pulse rate through Vennala Plus package. Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, he, along with G.V. Manoj Kumar, DGM (P&A), V.H.V.R.L.N. Varaprasad, DGM (CellOne and Rural). and Acharyulu, DGM (Finance), said that they the company had introduced a number of new plans in last one year, which resulted in expanding the network. Mr. Raghavendra Rao said that the BSNL East Godavari Circle was having 2.19 lakh mobile phones, both prepaid and post-paid, compared to 80,000 last year. He said the district stood first in State in mobile connections. Mr. Varaprasad said that they would install 107 cell towers before the end of the March out of which 21 towers would come up in Rajahmundry. Mr. Raghavendra Rao said that this was the first time that BSNL staff would go to the doorstep of customers to deliver telephone bills on time and also take DDs and cash towards bill payments. This system would be in launched in Rajahmundry, Kakinada and Amalapuram.
