The Minister calls for abolishing child labour Sirsi: Minister for Primary and Secondary Education and Uttara Kannada district in-charge Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri has stressed the need for creating awareness on human rights. Speaking after inaugurating the UGC-sponsored national-level seminar on “Protection of human rights and its socio-legal dimensions” at MES Law College here on Wednesday, he said, “We should be aware that rights and duties always go hand in hand.” Social evils such as child labour should be abolished, Mr. Kageri added. G.G. Hegde Kadekodi, chairman of the college subcommittee and the chief guest, said that there was a need for having discussions on atrocities on children in schools and human trafficking, among other issues.
