CHANDIGARH: The Europe-based International Sikh Forum (ISF) has selected Union Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur for the ‘Sikh of the Year’ award - 2009, for her contributions towards the State of Punjab in general and the Sikh community in particular. She would receive the award and citation in London on November 26. Confirming that she had received the communication, Ms. Kaur said: “I am thankful to the International Sikh Forum which decided to bestow such an honour on me”. Wife of the former Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh, Ms. Kaur has represented Patiala constituency for a record third time in a row. The award has earlier been conferred upon former Army Chief Gen J. J. Singh and Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia.
