Sikh pilgrim dies in Pakistan
Attari: A Sikh pilgrim, who went to Pakistan to participate in birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev at Nankana Sahib, died of a massive heart attack in Lahore, officials said here on Wednesday.
The body of Gurmukh Singh, 68, who died on Tuesday night, was handed over to Indian authorities by Pakistan at the Attari Check Post on Wednesday evening, they said.
Gurmukh went to Pakistan along with his nephew Davinder Singh to participate in the festivities relating to Guru Nanak Dev’s Jayanti at Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of the founder of the Sikh faith.
The two were among 1500 Sikh devotees who went to the neighbouring country on board the Samjhauta Express on October 31. — PTI
