Three arrested for double murder

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Three men have been arrested for allegedly killing two eunuchs at their house in Jamia Nagar here last month.

The bodies of the victims, Meena and Vimlesh, were found on the ground and first floor of their house on October 20. Their throats had been slit and there were multiple cuts on the bodies. Circumstantial evidence suggested that they had been murdered a couple of days ago. The house was ransacked by the assailants and locked from outside.

Enquiries by the police revealed that Rajesh, who worked as a driver for the victims, was missing with their van. Investigations revealed that he had been hiding somewhere in his native place Bhind in Madhya Pradesh. He kept changing his hideout to evade detection.

However, he finally landed in the police net along with his accomplice Somveer. The police claimed to have recovered gold and silver jewellery, silver coins, three wrist watches and Rs.5.82 lakh in cash from them. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that Khalil Ahmed, a close aide of Vimlesh, was the mastermind behind the murder-cum-robbery. Subsequently the police arrested him.
