VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh archers won gold, two silver and three bronze medals on the concluding day of the 32nd junior National archery championship at Raipur (Jharkhand). Sunandu Roy took the gold medal in the 30 metre compound segment with 356 out of 360. He also won bronze in the individual Olympic round, losing out Arjun of Jharkhand in the semifinal. Vijayawada Volga Archery Academy archer Ritul Chatterjee won silver medal in the 70 metre compound segment (332/360) and a bronze in the 50 metre category (338/360). In the team championships, AP girls and boys won silver and bronze medals respectively. Chess tournamentAn inter-schools chess tournament will be held at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium on November 7. The tournament will be conducted by the district unit of the Schools Games Federation of India.
