PALAKKAD: The family of Mohammad Naushad, 47, at Vattaprambil, Thekkemuri in Pattambi is shocked as he was beheaded in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for breaking into a house and murdering a woman four years ago. Some family members got unconfirmed information about the execution on Wednesday. But they believed it only on Thursday morning when news came that Naushad, along with two Sri Lankans, was beheaded. Naushad’s wife, Kamaruneesa, and their children, Sadiq, 13, an eighth standard student, and Shahana, 11, a sixth standard student, came to know about the execution only on Thursday. Ms. Kamaruneesa said they had no prior information about the punishment. Naushad, who had left for Saudi Arabia 10 years ago, had not been keeping in touch with the family for long.
