Beirut: The Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah denied on Thursday allegations by Tel Aviv that an arms shipment intercepted by Israeli commandos was meant for the group. In a statement, Hezbollah’s press office said: “We staunchly deny any link to the weapons that the Zionist enemy has seized from the Francop ship.” According to Israeli reports, the shipment which was intercepted on Wednesday had a large amount of weapons which were bound for Hezbollah from Iran. — DPA
