HASSAN: The former Minister and BJP leader B.B. Shivappa has suggested that Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa step down from office in the interests of the party. He has asked Mr. Yeddyurappa not to be “arrogant” as the party had already suffered on account of such an attitude. Speaker Jagadish Shettar, on the other hand, had enough experience in various official capacities and should take over the mantle, he added. At a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Shivappa said the crisis in the BJP was internal and it was time for a leadership change. The BJP should retain power, he said.
