260 red sander logs seized

Huge haul: Forest officials counting the seized red sander logs in Kadapa DFO office on Friday.

KADAPA: Forest officials intercepted a lorry and seized 260 red sander logs worth of Rs. 5 lakh near Adireddipalle in Vanipenta forest range in Mydukur in the early hours of Friday. The logs were being illegally transported underneath a load of papaya fruits.

Kadapa Flying Squad Forest Range Officer Khader Vali and staff seized the contraband on a tip-off.

The lorry and seized logs were brought to Kadapa DFO office.
