Children of all age groups can participate in the programme ‘Wonder Kid’ among the different events to be conducted on the occasion BERHAMPUR: A week-long children’s festival is being organised in the city by the Friends Helping Club. According to club president V. Venkataratnam Raju, different competitions will be organised throughout the week to provide children of the city scope to show up their talent. “This festival is being organised in memory of former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru coinciding with his birthday and Children’s Day on November 14.” According to programme coordinator Ch. Saibaba Achary, the club tried to include children of all age groups in the festival. There will be a healthy baby contest open for all children below the age of three years. Creative writingThe school-going children of higher classes will have competitions to check their spelling skills and creative writing. There will also be an event ‘Wonder Kid’ where the children will show up their skill as presenters on the stage. Their talent in expressing themselves before a crowd will be tested. The budding cultural talents of the city will get a chance to show up their skills through competitions of drawing and painting, singing and fancy dress competitions to be conducted on the occasion. ValedictoryThe valedictory of the festival will be held on November 15.
