Staff Reporter

PUDUCHERRY: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) Employees Union has requested Union Minister of Health Ghulam Nabi Azad to immediately stop outsourcing and contractualisation of jobs in any form and at any level in the institute.

In a letter to the Minister, the union said the posting of contract and daily rated employees should be stopped. Regular staff should be appointed to all posts and works. The existing grant of Hospital Patient Care Allowance should be continued and given on a par with nursing allowance. This allowance should not be curtailed in future.

They demanded that all promotional posts be given to feeding cadre employees on seniority basis. The new Assured Career Progression scheme of 10, 20, 30 years should be implemented as early as possible. Among other demands, the union requested for increase in special beds.
