CHAMARAJANAGAR: The Commissioner of the Employment and Training Department, S.R. Umashankar, has said that the efforts will be made to provide employment to at least 50 per cent of job aspirants in Chamarajanagar district. He was speaking after inaugurating the two-day “Koushalya Abhivrudhi Mattu Udhyoga Mela” at the Government Polytechnic here on Saturday. He said a human resource development (HRD) centre had been set up in Mangalore to facilitate job seekers. Job seekers can register their names and get their skills at language, communication and personality tested at the centre free of cost. 10 melasMr. Umashankar said that so far 10 such udhyoga mela’s had been held in the State and jobs had been provided to nearly 65,000 people. He said that skill training would be given in three stages for job aspirants. Over 75 companies were participating in the mela to recruit people for 10,000 vacancies, he said. RegistrationNearly 3,000 job aspirants had registered their names at the mela on the first day and it was expected that another 10,000 aspirants would register on the second day. Chief Executive Officer of Chamarajanagar Zilla Panchayat Sundar Nayak, Employment Officer Vishwanath Bharani and Joint Director of the department Muddanna were among those present.
