Curious: Ichoda SI D. Raghu Chander with the Sand boa.

ADILABAD: Ichoda police on Saturday ‘rescued’ a double headed snake popularly known as sand boa, before it could be hunted by racketeers who sell it for exorbitant prices to those who consider it extremely ‘lucky’ to possess it. The harmless snake was first sighted on Friday, at Ichoda mandal head quarters. Its reappearance in the Ichoda thanda village nearby on Saturday morning attracted the attention of a large number of people.

However, when the information reached the police SI D. Raghu Chander and his team caught the snake and brought it to Adilabad to hand it over to the forest department.

DSP A.R. Damodhar said many gangs scouting for sand boa operate in Adilabad district.
