Brainstorming session: Minister for Minor Irrigation Sunita Lakshma Reddy at the bankers’ meeting in Sangareddy on Sataurday.
SANGAREDDY: The District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting held here on Saturday expressed utter displeasure over the functioning of various banks in the district, in loan disbursement and asked them to set the things right in shortest possible time. P. Kishta Reddy, MLA, Narayanakhed, even warned that the bankers would be chased by the people if they fail to implement the government schemes. The meeting was presided over by the Lead District Manager P.M.K. Prasad and attended by Minor Irrigation Minister V. Sunita Lakshma Reddy, MLAs Ch. Mutyam Reddy and T. Jayaprakash Reddy, Zilla parishad chairman M. Balaiah and Collector L. Sashidhar. Soon after the meeting began, both Kishta Reddy and Muthyam Reddy alleged that the banks were not coming forward to open accounts for various beneficiaries. “Accounts are not being opened regarding scholarships to students, beedi workers loans and housing scheme allotments. Bankers are taking more than 45 days to transfer money from one account to another. ” Muthyam Reddy said. Mr. M.P.K. Prasad also wondered why transfer of money was taking so long when online transactions were taking place. Ms. Sunita Lakshma Reddy directed the bankers to address the problems instead of postponing them from time to time.
