Minister threatens to file suit against Nagam

HYDERABAD: Civil Supplies Minister J. Krishna Rao has threatened to take file a defamation suit against senior Telugu Desam Party leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy if the latter did not desist from making “baseless” charges against him.

The Minister wrote a letter to Telugu Desam president Nara Chandrababu Naidu, copies of which were released to the media on Saturday, asking him to discipline his legislature party’s deputy leader.

Mr. Krishna Rao took objection to Dr. Reddy’s charges that he had encroached upon endowments lands and defaulted on repayment of loans taken from the Prudential Bank.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Mr. Krishna Rao was particularly upset over, what he called, Dr. Reddy’s attitude in comparing him with former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda.
