STRIKE A POSE: Producer Mahesh Bhatt, actors Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan and director Kunal Deshmukh at a promotional event for their upcoming movie ‘Tum Mile’ in Hyderabad on Saturday.

HYDERABAD: The Bhatt family is known for its own brand of films in Bollywood. ‘Tum Mile’, the latest product from Vishesh Films stable, a love story made in the backdrop of July 26, 2005 Mumbai floods, also promises to break new ground. The film’s star cast including lead actors Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan, director Kunal Deshmukh and Mahesh Bhatt, was in the city on Saturday to promote the movie which is all set to hit the silver screens next Friday. (November 13)

As Soha Ali Khan arrived sporting a winsome smile in the company of Emraan Hashmi, shutterbugs in the crammed conference hall went overboard to capture the mood of the leading couple. Emraan Hashmi said Hyderabad was lucky for him. “Whenever I promoted my movie here it fared well. I am told many Hyderabadis don’t miss my movies,” he said.

‘Game for Tollywood’

About foraying into Telugu films, Soha Ali Khan says she’s keen on Telugu movies but was not approached by any director till date.

“On the fateful day of July 26 in Mumbai, every person had a unique and painful tale to tell. Cars were stranded and sank under rain water, public transport system was shut and citizens made futile attempts to reach their homes. All these incidents struck a chord with me and that is how ‘Tum Mile’ materialised,” said director Kunal Deshmukh. “Bhatt production had actually turned down the story when I narrated it on the sets of my first film, ‘Jannat’. But thanks to Mahesh Bhatt, it finally happened,” he says. “It has all the trappings of a typical commercial film. There is love, emotion and action and watch out for Soha’s performance,” says director-turned-writer Mahesh Bhatt.
