Two women found murdered

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Two young women were found murdered at home in different parts of West Delhi over the weekend. The police suspect involvement of someone known to the victims.

Thirty-two-year-old Seema Walia was found strangled at her residence around 7 p.m. “Her hands were tied up. Nothing seemed missing from the house,” said a police officer, adding that Seema lived with her brother who worked in a private firm. She worked as an assistant with a dentist.

In another incident, Meena (36) was found stabbed to death on the first floor of her house in the evening. “Robbery does not appear to be the motive behind the murder,” said the police officer.

Meena’s husband is in Dubai. While she along with her five-year-old child lived on first floor of the house, her parents and brother live on the ground floor. The murder took place when her mother and brother were not in the house.

The police are investigating the case.
