‘Implement G.O. in totality’

HYDERABAD: The executive committee of Telangana Udyogula Sangham at its meeting here on Sunday demanded total implementation of G.O. 610, repatriation of non-Telangana staff in Zones V and VI and replacing them with local candidates.

In a resolution, it wanted 42 per cent share in posts for people from Telangana in posts at Secretariat level, departmental heads and State-level offices which have been exempted from reservations, as mentioned in the Presidential Orders.

The resolution urged the Government to initiate immediate steps to change entire Telangana as one zone, on the basis of the Mulki rules, for ascertaining the status of local candidates. It offered to support any agitation by a political party or an organisation, like the Joint Action Committee of employees, on ‘free’ zone and problems of Telangana employees.

The executive resolved to demand the Singareni Collieries to stop opencast mining in Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts, which it alleged is destroying people’s lives, and resume underground mining. It decided to support the agitation against opencast mining. The resolution demanded scrapping of ‘illegal’ deputation of non-Telangana staff in GHMC, HMDA, Metro Rail and Outer Ring Road projects and posting local employees in their place.
