Kochi: Indonesian Navy ship KRI Diponegoro, which is on its way back to Jakarta after being deployed for six months as part of the Maritime Task Force of the United Nations Interim Force (UNIF) in Lebanon, called on at the port here on Sunday morning. On Monday, officers from the Indian and Indonesian Navies will visit each other’s ship. A group of Indonesian Navy officers will also visit INS Dronacharya, Indian Navy’s missile and gunnery school, besides its Navigation and Direction School. Ambassador
Indonesian Ambassador to India Lieutenant General (retd.) Andi M Ghalib, who is in town in connection with the arrival of the ship, accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel (Navy) Arsyad Abdullah, Diponegoro’s Commanding Officer, will meet Vice-Admiral K.N. Sushil, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command. Hosting lunchVice-Admiral Sushil will host a lunch for the Indonesian Navy personnel which will be reciprocated by the visiting Navy by way of a reception on board Diponegoro in the evening. A game of volleyball will also be played by both Navies. The Indonesian ship Diponegoro will leave Kochi on Tuesday.
