He gets ‘Outstanding Quality Man’ award
|
CHENNAI: The quality of spacecraft Chandrayaan-I is undebatable, said Mayilsamy Annadurai, Mission Leader, Chandrayaan-I, here on Monday.
Speaking after receiving the National Institution for Quality and Reliability (NIQR) – Bajaj award for ‘Outstanding Quality Man’, Dr. Annadurai said the spacecraft had paved the way for other countries to follow. M.S. Ananth, Director, IIT- Madras, said quantifying quality was a difficult task. NIQR-GKD award for outstanding organisation was presented to Titan Industries, Bangalore; NIQR-Lucas TVS award for outstanding service organisation to Sevalaya; NIQR-Susiraaward for outstanding small scale industry to Infant Engineers Private Limited; and NIQR-TVN Kdao award for outstanding educational institution to MEPCO SCHLENK Engineering College, Sivakasi. C. Chitra, an engineering student from RMK Engineering College, Kavarapettai, received NIQR-T.S. Krishna student award.
R. Mahadevan, National President, NIQR and K.V. Shetty, MD, India Pistons Limited, participated.
