>>The third paragraph of a report “Berlusconi renews attacks on judiciary” (“International” page, November 7, 2009) was “Accused of paying his former lawyer David Mills, estranged husband of Britain’s Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell, the sum of €600,000 to commit perjury in his favour, the ebullient Italian Premier is to stand trial after he lost his self-promulgated immunity from prosecution earlier this year.” It’s $600,000.

>>The seventh paragraph of a report “Mahasweta Devi not allowed to meet Irom Sharmila” (North India and Kolkata editions, November 7, 2009, page 7) was “Earlier, Ms. Mahasweta Devi inaugurated a film festival on human rights organised by the Anthropology department of Manipur University.” It was organised by the Centre for Manipuri Studies, Manipur University, and Human Rights Alert, Imphal, and held in the conference room of the Department of Anthropology, Manipur University.
