IFC’s initiative to improve healthcare for poor

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Low and middle income group patients visiting the government-run hospitals can now look for advanced diagnostic services like dialysis.

The International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank group, has agreed to work with the State government to enable three public hospitals in Kurnool, Visakhapatnam and Warangal offer advanced diagnostic services under a public private partnership. This follows a request made by the State seeking IFC’s advice in upgrading diagnostic services as a part of exploring new partnerships to strengthen healthcare provisions to the poor. The project would be the first infrastructure advisory health sector project for the IFC in the country.
