On wheels: Sudhakar Yadav demonstrates his mobile snooker table car which was unveiled on Wednesday in Hyderabad. HYDERABAD: The snooker table placed in the middle of a lawn invites snooker enthusiasts to give it a try. And just as one gets ready to give it a shot, it moves! No wonder. It’s the Snooker-Table Car that was unveiled here on Wednesday by Captain P.V.K Mohan, President, Billiards & Snooker Federation of India. Yet another wacky design from car designer Sudhakar, the car engineered to the exact dimensions of a standard international English snooker table even delighted snooker champion Lucky Vatnani, who will be representing India, at the upcoming World Snooker Championship. “Since the championship is being held for the first time in Hyderabad, I wanted to commemorate the occasion,” Mr. Sudhakar said. The car has six pockets, one at each corner and one at the centre of each of long side cushions which are made of vulcanised rubber. The playing surface has a base of veneer and is covered with green worsted wool, he said. Powered by a 150 cc engine, the Snooker Table Car has three wheels and can move at a maximum speed of about 45 kmph. Equipped with a Rock and Pinion Steering, headlight, indicators, it can also be stationed on collapsible jacks and be converted as a normal snooker table. “It took me four months to design and create the car,” said this Guinness World Record holder, who is also a recipient of the Limca Book of Records ‘People of the Year’ award in 2009. Mr. Sudhakar plans to design a Nizam Jewellery Train complete with bogies etc apart from a ‘Ladies Series’ cars featuring cars modelled like handbags, lipsticks etc. “My aim is to design 100 wacky cars,” he added.
