Metro project

Kochi: The Union government on Thursday informed the Kerala High Court that the Kochi metro rail project was still under the consideration of the government.

In an affidavit, the Union Ministry of Urban Transport Department said the proposal had been considered at various levels. But the Union government was yet to accord its final approval to the proposal. The affidavit was filed in response to a writ petition seeking to restrain the State government from spending any amount towards the project without the prior approval of the Union government.
