AIIMS conducting Asthana DNA test

NEW DELHI: The chemical examination of the viscera samples of Asutosh Asthana, key accused in the Ghaziabad Provident Fund Scam case who died in Dasna Jail on October 17, being done by the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here would be completed in another ten days, said Attorney-General G. E. Vahanvati in the Supreme Court on Thursday.

Giving this information before a three-judge Bench of Justice D. K. Jain, Justice V. S. Sirpurkar and Justice G. S. Singhvi, the Attorney-General said AIIMS was also conducting the DNA test. The CBI took possession of the samples and gave it to AIIMS to ascertain the cause of death as it was alleged to be a case of poisoning.
