Coimbatore: The Youth Task Force (YTF) and Giants Task Force will organise a torch light campaign at VOC Park Grounds from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in memory of road accident victims to generate awareness on safe driving habits and adherence to road safety rules. The participants shall assemble at VOC Park by 6 p.m. In a release, the organisers said that International Road Crash Victims Day is being celebrated on third Sunday of November i.e., November 15. Road crash causes three shades of darkness namely trauma, disability and death. The torch light campaign would have three different colours namely red for fatal, amber for disability and green for trauma. Respective colour plastic sheets would be placed in front of torch lights. The event is to remind people of the gravity of road accidents and the resultant impact on the families so as to ensure safe roads and driving habits, S. Suresh of YTF said. PortraitsParticipants representing fatal accident victims could bring portraits of the deceased and there will be a separate place for offering flowers to pay homage to the departed souls. The participants shall come with the torch light, battery and respective colour plastic sheet. For details, contact 98410-55330 or could send e-mail to suresh@freshindian.org
