4 killed in accident

THENI: Four persons were killed on the spot when a van proceeding to Jayamangalam from Devadhanapatti hit a school van coming in the opposite direction on Devadhanapatti-Vaigai dam main road at Kadirappanpatti near here on Saturday.

The dead included Ramuthai (38) of Azhagarnaickanepatti, Chinnathai (55) and Rajeshwari (35) of T. Kallipatti and Lakshmi (48) of Sothuparai were all road workers. Eight injured persons were admitted to Periakulam government hospital. School van driver Raja was arrested. — Staff Reporter
