‘Cooperative week’ launched

HYDERABAD: The 56th All-India Cooperative Week was launched at the AP State Cooperative Bank Ltd. here on Saturday with vice-chairman Y. Vijayender Reddy hoisting the ‘cooperative flag’.

He told the gathering that the cooperative sector was able to work efficiently even during days of recession. Yet it was necessary to strengthen it.

In his message, Vasanta Nageswara Rao, APCOB chairman, observed that the cooperative sector alone was a contributory factor to the country’s development. Keeping this in view, he called for changes in the cooperative banks’ set-up so that they could perform better than their commercial counterparts. Senior bank officials and customers were present.
