Kanchi Sankaracharya to visit Delhi
NEW DELHI: Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam will arrive in Delhi on November 18 and stay at Sri Devi Kamkashi Mandir. The next day he will participate in a conference on “Role of faith leaders in global warming and nuclear disarmament” along with Maulana Imam Umair Ahmed Ilyasi, president of All-India Organisation of Imams of Mosques.
He will leave for Kurukshetra on November 20 and return to the Capital on November 22 and stay till November 26.
To coincide with his visit and his 75th Amirtha Mahotsava celebrations, the Kamakshi temple has arranged Maha Rudram for four days from November 21 to 24. On November 24, Poornahuti of Maha Rudram and Chandi Homam will be performed in the presence of the Acharya. He will grace the devotees from November 23 to 26.
