Deeds available on net

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Revenue Minister Shiv Charan Sharma said on Monday that the Government had made available templates of various types of deeds under the Haryana Registration Information System (HARIS) and also on the Internet.

He said HARIS had been made operational for registration of instruments under Sections 17 and 18 of the Indian Registration Act 1908 in all tehsils and sub-tehsils of the State.

Under this system, photographs of the executants and witnesses are taken on the spot through HARIS to help check irregular registration of documents. Endorsements under Sections 51 to 60 of the Act are also made through HARIS on the instruments and calculation of stamp duty as per collector rates is also made.

The drafts of various types of deeds are available under HARIS at all the tehsils or sub-tehsils and at the website of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department -- www.revenueharyana.gov.in --at download or forms link. People could use this facility without depending on deed writers or advocates, he added.
