Man beaten to death
NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death and his two acquaintances sustained injuries in a clash with jhuggi-jhonpri dwellers in Tilak Nagar here over the weekend.
It all happened late on Sunday night when Deepak Sachdeva, a vendor, found his stolen handcart parked near a jhuggi-jhonpri cluster in Sham Nagar. Deepak was accompanied by his friends and a fight broke out between them and the jhuggi-jhonpri dwellers.
The jhuggi-jhonpri dwellers allegedly attacked them with lathis causing serious injuries to Girish, who later died in a hospital. Two of Deepak’s friend -- Raju and Vinay -- also sustained injuries.
