Photojournalist Ashok Bose passes away

KOLKATA: Veteran photojournalist Ashok Bose (80) died at his Dhakuria residence here on Monday night following a cardiac arrest. Ashok Bose, who started his career with Cine Advance, a film magazine in the 1950s, worked with the Ananda Bazar Patrika, the Malayala Manorama Group of Publications, Coalfield Times and Sigma Photo Agency, among others.
Offering condolences to his family, West Bengal Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi observed: “I am sad to learn of the sudden demise of Shri Ashok Bose, eminent photojournalist and former president, All India Photojournalists’ Association. A photographer par excellence, Shri Bose performed yeoman’s service as leader of the association.”
