Will facilitate testing for immigration requirements also NEW DELHI: Metropolis Healthcare Limited, a multinational chain of diagnostic centres, and DNA Diagnostic Centre have joined hands to introduce DNA testing in the country. The partnership will facilitate various DNA tests across categories such as paternity, maternity, other family relationships, ancestry and testing for immigration requirements. Metropolis Healthcare Limited executive director Ameera Patel said: “At present, DNA testing in the Indian market is only limited to a few cities, lacking quality and accreditation. This new partnership will open doors to reliable, secure, professional DNA testing in the country. We intend to maximise on the experience and expertise of the DNA Diagnostic Centre and the reputation, operations and network of Metropolis while offering these unique tests nationwide.” Earlier Metropolis Healthcare was conducting genetics testing only as part of clinical trials. DDC International Business Development and Marketing head Dan Leigh said: “The DDC is launching an expansion programme into new markets. We bring reliable, professional, accredited DNA testing to all parts of the India through the vast network and infrastructure developed by Metropolis. The testing will be conducted in our laboratory in Ohio, US, and we aim to provide the shortest turnaround time for results in the country.”
