Airtel connects Far East

NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel on Tuesday launched the ‘Far-East Connect’ cable network that will offer connectivity across Asia-Pacific. Through its new cable network, the company will extend its reach to Australia, the U.S., China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam and Brunei. “The launch of the Far-East Connect network is another step towards our vision of making Bharti Airtel the communication services partner of choice for global telecom companies,” said Bharti Airtel CEO and Joint Managing Director Manoj Kohli.

“Our investments of over $500 million over the last two years are designed to create a global network. Asia and the Pacific represent one of the fastest growing markets for ICT companies, and as industry leaders in India, Bharti Airtel is uniquely positioned to take advantage of this growing market opportunity,” he added.
