NEW DELHI: International Master Vidit Gujarathi kept alive India’s quest for a gold medal in the World youth chess championship by leading the under-16 section with 5.5 points after six rounds at Antalya, Turkey. Following Vidit in the tied second spot is S.P. Sethuraman with five points. Vaibhav Suri (5.5 points) remained jointly in the lead in the under-12 category as the competition crossed the halfway stage after two rounds on Monday. When the action resumes after a day of rest, much will be expected from M.B. Prathima, jointly second in the girls under-8 section. Also in the medal hunt are Hetul Shah (under-10), C.H. Meghna (girls under-10) and Lasya Goli (girls under-12) who are sharing the third spot in their respective sections.
