ERODE: Former Union Minister of State for Textiles E.V.K.S. Elangovan has called for early implementation of the Erode Mega Cluster Project. Addressing journalists here on Thursday after garlanding former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s picture at Paneer Selvam Park junction, he said that during his stint as a Minister in the previous government he had worked to establish the cluster in the city and the same was announced by the then Finance Minister P. Chidambaram in Union Budget. November 19 marks Ms. Gandhi’s 105th birth anniversary. The project would give the much-needed fillip to the textile industry not only in the city but also to textiles clusters in the vicinity, he said further.
