A Government Bill to fix ceilings for land holdings will be introduced in the Madras Legislative Assembly during its meeting in December, according to Mr. K. Kamaraj, Chief Minister. Proposals relating to the reform have been examined by a Sub-Committee of the Cabinet and its conclusions are now being given concrete shape. The scheme of the legislation is expected to be finalised at a meeting of the Cabinet fixed for November 23. The Bill will be introduced in the Assembly at an early date after December 5. The Government’s intention appears to be to have it referred to a Select Committee.
