THIRUVALLA: The Kerala Basketball Association, in association with the Thiruvalla YMCA, will conduct classes for referees, players and coaches during the 54th State senior basketball championship which will be held here from November 30 to December 6. A clinic for existing referees will be held at the Municipal Stadium, the championship venue, at 2.30 p.m. on November 30 with international referee Joseph John leading the event. International Referee Fr. Philip Vadakkaekalam will hold a clinic on three-person officiating, basketball situations and judgments on December 1 after the State championship’s morning session. On December 3, a clinic will be held for all youngsters who plan to take B-panel referees test. This session will be followed by a theory test for inclusion and promotion from the B-panel to the A-panel. There will be sessions on sports psychology, sports nutrition, sports injuries and first aid on December 4 under the guidance of Kannur University’s Suresh Kutty.
