THRISSUR: Mediumpacers H. Akhil (five for 39) and Vinod (four for 31) helped Thrissur’s St. Thomas College defeat Farook College (Feroke) by 50 runs and enter the final of the Calicut University cricket championship at the Sree Kerala Varma College Ground here on Friday. The other semifinal, between Thrissur’s Sree Kerala Varma and Government Victoria College (Palakkad), could not be completed owing to rain. Victoria had made 106 for four in 25.3 overs when rain stopped play at the Vidya Academy Ground. The match will be replayed on Saturday. The scores: St. Thomas (Thrissur) 209 for seven in 40 overs (Vishnu 57) bt Farook (Feroke) 159 in 34.4 overs (Wasim Ali 38, H. Akhil five for 39, Vinod four for 31). — Principal Correspondent
