GULBARGA: Daily wage workers in the hostels run by the Social Welfare Department on Saturday accused the officials of the department of depriving them of minimum wages recommended by the State Government. They alleged that they had been paid less than the minimum wages recommended by the Government for the past 10 years. They demanded that the difference amount, which was denied to them as wages for 10 years, be paid as arrears immediately. The workers, who launched a dharna here on Friday, threatened to intensify their agitation. They said that they would go on a fast from November 26 if the Government did not fulfil their demands. — Staff Correspondent
