PATHANAMTHITTA: Journalists should emulate Swadesabhimani Ramakrishna Pillai, editor and political activist who was exiled for wielding his pen fearlessly against the rulers of the erstwhile princely State of Travancore 100 years ago in carrying out their professional duties, said Prof. M.Thomas Mathew, critic and Vayalar Award winner. Prof. Mathew was delivering the keynote address at a seminar on ‘freedom of the press’ at the Press Club hall here on Friday. The seminar was jointly organised by the Information and Public Relations Department and the Pathanamthitta Press Club to commemorate Swadesabhimani Ramakrishna Pillai’s exile from Travancore in 1910. Prof. Mathew said the world of media had witnessed tremendous changes in the past 100 years.
