Prizes distributed

PUDUCHERRY: The Government Middle School, Ariyankuppam, conducted a programme recently to give away prizes to winners of various competitions held on women empowerment.

The competitions were organised by the Guidance and Counselling wing of the school under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for girl students. Memory contest was conducted for students of Class VI, fancy dress contest for Class VII students and mono-acting for Class VIII students, according to a press release here.

Assistant Professor of Mahatma Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences L. Jeevanandam distributed prizes and spoke on the importance of dental health.

Headmaster of the school P.K. Bhaskaran was also present, the press release said.
